THE 8 WINTER SKINCARE SAVIOURS

Winter in all of its cold glory has definitely arrived here in London and although I am much more of a summer lover, over the years I have grown to also enjoy the winter. Something I continue to dislike about the arrival of the cold weather is the way in makes my skin feel. This used to be a bigger issue for me a few years ago with sensitive skin paired with the dryness that London winters bring equaling chaos. However the last year and a half I have really found some winter skincare saviours that make all the difference.

I went on a weekend recently to North Wales, where I knew it would be particularly cold so I decided to bring the whole gang so I could really decide which combinations I felt like using.

1. CLINIQUE PEP-START LIP MASK

This recent addition to my bathroom cabinet is a godsend for anyone suffering from dry or cracked lips. It gives a real smooth, softening effect which I love to use first thing in the morning before applying lipstick and last thing at night before I go to bed.

2. SKIN & TONIC NAKED BEAUTY OIL

I've had this oil for a few years and it is one that I always end up coming back to. I often alternate between this one and my Neals Yard Remedies rose face oil when I feel I really need to hydrate deeper. I love applying this oil before bed to allow it to really penetrate overnight with all of its lovely, nourishing natural ingredients. If I feel the winter cold air is making my skin a bit dull I also sometimes use it in the morning for a natural glow without any oiliness.

3. AVENE HYDRANCE SERUM

This serum is the perfect base for any of you who want a light option for dryness. For me personally, I love to start my skincare routine with this super hydrating serum and then adding a heavier serum, oil or cream over the top. When it comes to dryness caused by cold weather I really enjoy applying serums and oils as I feel like these really get deeper into the skin's layers and I have seen really positive results since I started using these regularly within my winter skincare routine.

4. ESTEE LAUDER ADVANCED NIGHT REPAIR

There is something about this overnight oil/serum that means its texture feels very unique vs the other serums and oils I use. I use this one during every season and it is definitely a product both the price-tag. Even after just the first application your skin feels and looks hydrated and with improved tone somehow. A must-have!

5. LA ROCHE POSAY ROSALIAC AR INTENSE SERUM

For any of you who suffer from redness or skin sensitivities during Winter whether its the wind or simply the coldness then this is the one for you. Again for me, I use it as a base right after cleansing before I apply anything else both morning and night. It really helps to soothe my skin and stop any overreactions that may be happening.

6. CLINIQUE MOISTURE SURGE OVERNIGHT MASK

I love this! This for me is an essential for my night time skin routine. I lather it on like a lotion as my last step and wake up to super hydrated and soft skin. It's great for flights or travel too as although it is a mask you don't need to take anything off at the end so it is perfect for when you need an instant boost of hydration that will only continue into the coming hours.

7. NEALS YARD REMEDIES HYDRATING ROSE FACIAL OIL

The perfect, natural and organic facial oil when you want something uncomplicated but efficient. I am a huge fan of using facial oils as I really feel they make a great difference to your skin not only when dealing with dryness but also other skin concerns like blotchiness or scarring. I go through fazes of using this every day when I feel my skin needs it most.

8. LA ROCHE POSAY CICAPLAST BAUME B5

Finally this balm is for those days when nothing else will cure your skin ailments. When suffering from particularly sore, dry or sensitive skin I love to apply this as it creates a bit of a film around the area and really helps soothe the issue. It is also great for eczema or very specific patches of dryness whether it is on your body or face. An essential winter skin saviour!
