POSTCARDS FROM PORTUGAL

When I was young I used to spend my entire summer's in the South of Portugal, jumping off the dock into the river, running around in the countryside and heading to the beach with Portuguese family. As is the way when you get older I get less time to come back but I always try to return as often as I can to do all of the above and to truly chill out. The beach for me has always had a very calming effect on me so I love to spend as many days as I can there but I am also very cautious about the sun...Although I love the sunshine; the way it makes me feel, the heat and a tan I also know the damaging effect it can have on your skin which is why I am a freak when it comes to SPF. I am the girl constantly reapplying every 20 minutes with an SPF 50 to really try and protect my face and body as best as I can.

For me, because one side of my heritage is Portuguese, certain places also provide a lot of history for me, including beaches that my mother, my grandma's and even further back have been going to since forever, the town my grandad grew up in and the town my mum spent her childhood. All these reasons and more make Portugal a home of mine that I do not live in but go back to again and again...
