Beauty

Working in the beauty industry, I love trying out the latest, trending products in skincare and makeup. However, since I developed highly allergic and sensitive skin, I have really had to be careful with what I use on my face.

With fragrance being a key allergen, I try and keep things fragrance-free where possible; especially avoiding Citral, Limonene and Linalool. I also generally go for clean skincare which avoids harsh chemicals and irritants like methylchloroisothiazolinone, parabens and phthalates.

Trying…Orgaid Organic Skincare with Sensitive Skin

Orgaid Organic Skincare first caught my attention when it showed up in Free People’s beauty edit as one of their top picks for Winter.   Since then their sheet masks in particular appear to be popping up all over the place, so I thought I would give them a whirl.   I also decided to try out some of the other products within their line; all of which focus on organic, effacacious ingredients and formulas by Dr.Baek. The Greek Yogurt Organic Orgaid Sheet Mask First things first, I’ve started with their mega popular sheet masks. I got to give all…

Trying…The Inkey List with Sensitive Skin

The Inkey List is a brand that seems to have come out of nowhere to be the brand on everyone’s lips in this past year. I was very kindly invited to their most recent press day where I got to sample their existing range. I also got to try some of their most recent new launches like their Oat Cleansing balm and their Peptide moisturiser. After creating my perfect skincare recipe with the Inkey List at the event, I have had  plenty of time to trial and test. So here is my review of the Inkey List for sensitive skin…

Why an Air Purifier can help your Sensitive Skin

If you have allergies like me, you will know that even the air around you can be having an impact on your skin. Particals in the air, including pollution and chemicals can be prematurely ageing your skin, or causing inflammation in sensitive skin types.   With all this in mind, I decided to try out Light Air’s air purifier to see what benefits it could have on my very sensitive, allergic skin. These are the 5 benefits I found after living with the Light Air Ion Flow 500 in my home and on my skin.      …

My Gisou Hair Oil Haircare Routine

When it comes to my haircare routine I would definitely say I steer on the more laid back route. I really can never be bothered with spending too much time on it, plus I really do like that undone, beachy look. From time to time I will go all out and curl my hair for an evening. But really it’s all about the products I use (in a rush) that keep my hair looking healthy with Gisou hair oil.    1. The Basics – Shampoo & Conditioner First things first it all begins with the humble shampoo and…

My Current Sunday Skincare Routine

My skincare routine changes regularly as I try out new skincare and get obsessed with the latest it-products. I’ve included here what I’m currently using most Sundays to really detox and pamper my skin for the week ahead.   At the moment I have been starting with my Darphin detox mask which is super moisturising and feels amazing on my skin. This is probably one of my favourites ever face masks as I really do notice my skin more glowy after only 10 minutes.   After any cleansing, I use the Clinique clarifying lotion every single morning and evening. I…

Noble Isle: My Favourite Bath Essentials

Ever since my stay at The Dusntane Houses and discovering Noble Isle bath and body products I have become obsessed by their amazing scents and they have completely taken over my bathroom! Noble Isle is used throughout the bathrooms at The Dunstane Houses and the first scent that really got my attention was the Whisky & Water range. Being up in Edinburgh I was of course as keen to try as many Whisky flavoured/smelling things as possible so this fit the bill. It’s really hard to describe the scent but it’s totally unique, quite smoky and really does smell of…

5 Ways to Have the Best Sleep of Your Life

Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hours

Ever since Clinique launched their new Moisture Surge 72 hours I have been obsessed. It has become a non-negotiable in my beauty routine, with nothing else quite like it!   I have been using it day and night and it is the perfect thing on its own, over a face oil or mixed in with my Tan-Luxe. The texture is light, watery and sinks in almost immediately which makes it perfect for the everyday. The fact that it is so hydrating, keeping water in your skin for over 72 hours, even if you wash your face in between…

The Glossier Review

Glossier is a brand that I have long been a fan of from afar. Though I had managed to pick up a few things here and there through friends over in the USA I was ridiculously excited to hear Glossier were hosting a pop-up in London. The space itself was very cool, dressed everywhere in millennial pink and various different spaces to chill out, to test out the products and to smell the fragrance. I ended up going for the Milky Jelly Cleanser, Wowder powder, Haloscope and the stretch concealer.      The Milky Jelly Cleanser I have been using the…

The 8 Winter Skincare Saviours

Winter in all of its cold glory has definitely arrived here in London and although I am much more of a summer lover, over the years I have grown to also enjoy the winter. Something I continue to dislike about the arrival of the cold weather is the way in makes my skin feel so a winter skincare routine is essential. This used to be a bigger issue for me a few years ago with sensitive skin paired with the dryness that London winters bring equaling chaos. However the last year and a half I have really found some winter…

How I Got a White Smile in a Week

For me, although I have never felt as though I had particularly yellow teeth, with all the coffee and herbal teas I drink I was beginning to worry about the effect it was having. I had tried out whitening strips a few times for a white smile but other than that I haven’t ever really tried any teeth whitening systems so when Smile Brilliant approached me to collaborate I felt curious enough to give it a go.    Firstly I loved how professional and well thought out the whole whitening system was; catering for sensitive teeth, and providing…

The 30 Day Skin Detox

After a pretty unhealthy and crazy-busy couple of weeks I really wanted to whip myself into shape by doing something to kick start a new healthier regime. I decided to embark on a 30 day detox with Teami Blends for something that was low maintenance but would hopefully help to support me beginning to eat healthier meals and start working out again. I also really felt like my skin had been suffering from the less healthy foods I was choosing to eat and just felt a bit congested.  What I really liked about the Teami blends is that it is…

MY PM Cleansing Routine

I have recently changed up my PM cleansing skincare routine and I have found it has made such a big difference to my skin that I had to share! It all started with the Clinique Sonic brush which was kindly gifted to me and I decided to try out. I had tried out the Clarisonic a few years ago and although I liked it, I did feel that overall it felt quite harsh on my skin so I eventually stopped using it.   However over the last few months, I had really been feeling as though it needed a…

Beauty Sleep with Skin Laundry

It is no secret to any of those who know me that I love to go to bed early and wake up before anyone else! I have also recently found some tools that have really enhanced my beauty sleep by working magically while I sleep working on anti-ageing, smoothness and even improving the clarity of my skin. The one product that really kicked off all this was the Skin Laundry sleepcycle pillow case.    THE CLAIMS: The SleepCycle™ Pillowcase is treated with charged silver ion technology that provides a natural antimicrobial effect to help reduce the presence…
