Prague, just in time for Christmas

Just before Christmas my sister and I arranged the perfect long weekend winter escape to Prague. As it was both of our first times to the Czech Republic we had a bit of a whistle-stop tour of this gorgeous city during the most magical time of the year!

We stayed at the Golden Key hotel; Member of Asten Hotels which was not only in the perfect relaxing district of the city, it was also right in the middle with only a 10minute walk away to the historic Charles bridge & Prague castle. It was great for us as it meant we could get to grips with the city pretty quickly as it was so easy to walk around everywhere.

Our stay was made even more magical when the next morning it began snowing and the city rooftops suddenly turned to white. It made the long weekend away even better as it felt incredibly Christmassy walking around the markets, cafes and historic buildings with a warm mulled wine in hand as the snow fell down.

During our stay, we got to explore the Christmas markets for the first time. We consumed our fair share of coffee, mulled wine, and more Czech treats including the delicious Trdelnik which was pretty amazing! Also down the street from The Golden Key hotel, was the gingerbread museum and bakery which was equally delicious (some photos further down this post) so we had to bring some back with us! After a hectic day wandering around the city exploring in the snow we decided to go back to the hotel and chill out in the sauna. It was just what the doctor ordered after a long day out in the cold. We then decided to crack open the merlot and go out for dinner and drinks but not before hitting the club room to hang out and chill.

The Golden Key hotel was just the best place to come back to after being out in the cold all day and incredibly cosy, warm and inviting. The hotel itself also has an adjoining cafe which we ended up eating cakes at just before catching our flight home. They also have their own bakery book which we brought back so I am incredibly excited to try out some of the recipes back at home as I safely say I ate my weight in cakes and sweet treats.

I brought with me a Paul & Joe Sister puffer coat which resembled a duffet and was perfect for the snowy weather! I also wore throughout the trip two Paul & Joe blouses- one in blue lace and one in floral print. My Everlane boss boots also got their first outing which I  love and are my go-toes for everyday as they seem to really pull together an outfit. In terms of makeup I've really refined my travel minis stash taking my trusty Zoeva mini eye palette, my Glossier solid fragrance, Victoria Beckham for Estee Lauder bronzer and Clinique skincare.

We had the best time in Prague and we definitely wouldn't have had such an amazing time without the help of the lovely team at the hotel who helped us find the best spots and generally made us feel so welcome. The Golden Key hotel is part of the Asten hotels of which there is another hotel in the city of Prague (which we actually walked past as the building was so pretty!) called hotel Klarov. They also have another location-based up in the mounts; The hotel Savoy Spindleruv Mlyn which is now firmly on my list of places to go for snow!

All opinions are my own, but I was very kindly allowed to stay at The Golden Key hotel for free during my stay in Prague.
