[7 MINUTE READ]
Neutrogena is a brand we all know and love. So, when we heard that they had brought out their Clear and Soothe range specially formulated to target sensitive, spot-prone skin our Editor Gabriela jumped straight in line to buy.
Gabriela has environmentally-sensitive, combination skin, prone to spots and some dryness. While the spots have cleared up a lot over the past year, she is always on the lookout for products to help clear the occasional breakout. So, just keep reading for her Neutrogena Clear and Soothe Review.
Gabriela tried out the full range of Neutrogena Clear & Soothe products, which includes their cleanser, toning mist, moisturiser and makeup remover. Below are her thoughts on the new range that everyone is talking about...
Neutrogena Clear and Soothe Mousse Cleanser
The first product I tried in the Neutrogena Clear and Soothe range was their Mousse Cleanser and the first thing I noticed was the bright yellow/orange colour of the bottles. This colour choice pervades the entire Neutrogena Clear and Soothe range, highlighting the use of Tumeric as a key ingredient. Tumeric is rich in antioxidants and works to calm stressed skin through its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Along with the bright colour, I seriously loved using the Neutrogena Clear and Soothe mouse cleanser! I found it to be really refreshing in the morning and, a great way to remove dirt and impurities accumulated in the evening. After using the product for a few weeks, I noticed that the areas of my skin that tend to look more oily seemed less so, and any spots I did have seemed less noticeable due to the reduced shine. Just one pump goes a long way with the Clear and Soothe Mousse Cleanser!
Neutrogena Clear and Soothe Toning Mist
Admittedly, I normally find the whole toning part of my skincare routine rather tedious. I am not a big fan of having to push a cotton pad into my toner and slowly dab it across my face, hoping I haven't missed a spot. That's why I was thrilled to realise that Neutrogena Clear and Soothe Toner was in fact a toning mist!
This product has become my favourite in the range, not just for its practicality; you can spray evenly over your face in a matter of seconds, but also the Neutrogena Clear and Soothe Toning Mist feels so energising and restorative. Not only that, but you can easily pop the mist into your handbag and use it throughout the day if your skin is feeling a little clogged and needs a refreshing boost. If you try out anything from this range, this is the product I would go for!
Neutrogena Clear and Soothe Moisturiser
The Neutrogena Clear and Soothe moisturiser is a lovely, lightweight hydrator. It is more of a water-based gel formula that absorbed really quickly into my skin, without leaving any sort of oily residue. I noticed a massive improvement in the oil-levels of my skin throughout the weeks I used the Neutrogena Clear and Soothe range and, would definitely put this down to the Neutrogena Clear and Soothe moisturiser. It was really hydrating but still left my skin feeling plump and matt.
Neutrogena Clear and Soothe Jelly Micellar Jelly Makeup Remover
The final product I tried out from the range was the Neutrogena Clear and Soothe Jelly Micellar Makeup Remover. I used this product to remove both my face and eye makeup on days where I had applied a full face of makeup. With a reusable cotton pad, I used one pump for each eye and a pump for the rest of my face. I found that this removed all the makeup very easily and efficiently. I was really impressed!
Often, I am a little cautious of trying new micellar makeup removers or gels because when I remove my eye makeup, some of the product always seems to end up in my eye. Please tell me I'm not alone in this... However, I found that one pump of the Neutrogena Clear and Soothe Jelly Micellar was just enough to get all the mascara and liquid liner off in one fell swoop, without risking residue product ending up in my eye.
Who Would Suit This Range?
Overall, my consensus is this range is perfect for anyone with sensitive but spot-prone skin wanting a low-maintenance, easy-to-use skincare routine with minimal steps. The products are delightfully refreshing! Plus the Clear and Soothe range is ideal for the summer months when the temperature is warmer and your skin can feel easily congested.
Any reactions?
Personally, I didn't feel any sensitivity or adverse reaction from my skin over the time where I trialled the products. However, I would suggest adding a serum or hydrating oil to your routine (before you apply the moisturiser) if you need an extra hit of hydration.
Final Thoughts
I am very impressed with the Neutrogena Clear and Soothe range as it really helped control my skin's oil levels and reduce spots. My skin feels clearer and brighter than before, in just a few weeks. Plus, this range is super affordable with every product priced at £5.99! I'm definitely going to keep using it for the foreseeable.
