As anyone who knows me can confirm, I am obsessed with LED Light therapy and the difference it can make to my skin. So, when I first heard about the Foreo UFO Smart Mask – The World’s First home Smart Mask to offer spa-level facials in just 90 seconds with LED light – I was in!
Apparently, you guys are as interested as I am in this unique gadget so below I have answered some of your most googled questions on the Foreo UFO 2. For my personal review of the Foreo UFO device and to find out if the Foreo UFO 2 is worth the hype, just keep reading.
What is the Foreo UFO 2?
The Foreo UFO 2 is a spa-quality sonic powered mask that uses LED light therapy, heating, cryotherapy, and sonic massage technology. It uses all of these in conjunction with a range of mini microfiber masks that you add to the device yourself.
Basically, if you are after an all-in-1 facial device that delivers personalised treatments, there isn’t anything else like it on the market.
What are the Foreo UFO 2 features?
Foreo UFO 2 offers full-spectrum LED light therapy; this is a biggie! If you have ever had LED light therapy of any colour, you will know the amazing after-effects it can provide your skin. However, even just 15 minutes of light therapy treatment can be pretty pricey, which is why I was so excited that this device includes eight of the different light therapy colours.
As each shade treats a different concern it allows you to receive the most targeted and effective treatment when combined with the microfiber mask. To make things super easy, Foreo has shared an explanation of what each of the 8 LED colours does for your skin right here.
My second favourite feature after the LED light is the fact that Foreo UFO 2 actually warms up to allow the sheet mask product to more effectively absorb into your skin. It feels incredibly relaxing and is such a unique feature! I have not seen it in any other at-home devices. Additionally, it offers cryotherapy, which is big news in the skincare world at the moment, and for good reason! Cryotherapy and the use of low temperatures during the UFO 2 treatment offer a huge number of benefits; from reduced puffiness and shrinking the look of pores to helping with inflammation in the skin.
Finally, the UFO 2 device also offers T-Sonic Power, which uses sonic waves to reach deep into your skin. The incredible thing about this feature is that, again like the many other features mentioned, it has a huge array of skincare benefits. Not only does it feel like a light massage that is incredibly relaxing, but it also helps to detoxify and exfoliate the skin in a really gentle way by stimulating the skin at a cellular level. It smooths fine lines, reduces puffiness, and softens dark circles... WIN-WIN-WIN.
I have not yet come across an at-home device that combines all of these amazing skincare features in one, but the cherry on top is that you can customise all of these features and settings. I was able to manually choose which LED light I wanted to use depending on my concern that day, how long I wanted the heat or cryotherapy treatment to last and how strong I wanted the T-Sonic pulsations to be!
- HACK 1 - you can use all UFO activated masks with cryotherapy in custom settings
- HACK 2 - all of the masks have enough serum in them to use more than once, so you can repeat your original treatment or keep on applying the leftover serum in custom settings. Dreamy!
How do you use the Foreo UFO 2?
First things first, you need to connect up the Foreo UFO smart mask to the app. This is easy enough to do as once you have switched it on, the app will automatically detect it. After that, it is time to select your routine – select either morning or night and scan the barcode of the mask packet. This then tells the app what pre-programmed power mask treatment to follow and the app walks you through adding the microfiber Foreo UFO 2 mask to the device. The app provides you with a full guided routine and the whole thing takes less than 2 minutes, with an option to repeat the treatment if you fancy it. Depending on your mask choice, your facial might start with T-Sonic pulsations or a lovely warming sensation and any number of the 8 LED light therapy colours.
What are the benefits of the Foreo UFO 2?
The Foreo UFO 2 uses so many amazing skincare tech innovations within the small device and there are a huge number of benefits to using each one. Many of these benefits I have already listed above, but some additional ones include:

For me, personally, the immediate results I notice after using the device are that my skin is always glowing, my skin tone looks more balanced and my cheeks appear plumper. Over time, I also began to find that my skin looked smoother and healthier, with less overall redness.
What UFO 2 Masks did you try & what are your thoughts?
I used the following Foreo UFO 2 Masks and enjoyed all of them, but the Cannabis Seed Oil mask was truly my favourite.
Make My Day Mask – This mask uses a mix of red algae and hyaluronic acid to really nourish your skin, focusing on providing pollution protection and getting your skin prepped for the day ahead. A lovely quick and light treatment to start the day on mornings where I felt I needed a little boost!
Call it a Night Mask – This one uses a blend of olive oil and ginseng which helped to hydrate and improve circulation. My skin felt smoother and plumper each time I used this mask, and it was definitely the most relaxing routine due to the sonic pulsations.
Cannabis Seed Oil Mask – Soothing and anti-inflammatory, the cannabis sativa seed oil, chamomile and magnesium really made an impact when my skin was feeling red and angry. The ingredient combination was perfect to help soothe some of the sensitivity I was experiencing.
H2Overdose Mask – Basically a tall drink of water for your skin! I reckon that this mask is what you need if you suffer from dryness as it offers needs deep moisturisation for your skin.
Green Tea Mask – Another super-soothing option, which helps protect, calm and hydrate with its blend of Japanese Green Tea and moisturising Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract.
Is the Foreo UFO 2 worth it? What are the results like?
This little gadget is really quite phenomenal! Not only is it incredibly innovative, but it can cater to any of your skincare desires; whether you want LED therapy or cryotherapy alongside your hydrating facial. The UFO stands for “Ur Future Obsession” and quite frankly, it has become a bit of an obsession for me. Whenever my skin is playing up I know I can customise my perfect treatment that will help and deliver results in only 90 seconds.
The short-term results were impressive as my skin felt hydrated, soothed and less irritated than before the treatment. Now, the longer-term benefits of LED, cryotherapy and the masks are really beginning to show; not only does my skin look more even, but it feels healthier and more nourished too. I would say you can't put a price on that!
